ATLAS CABLE TOOL HAMMERS

Cable Tool drilling has evolved from a two man operation to a one man. Also, we no longer have to lift heavy drive clamps nor climb the derrick to add water. We can now drive and drill at the same time making drilling a very efficient operation.
Starting the first joint of pipe with a casing hammer works extremely well. The casing hammer will replace the stem guide. It keeps the pipe from being grabbed by the bit and lifted from the hole during drilling. This happens frequently when drilling in gravel. The first 20 feet can often be installed in 20 minutes under these conditions.

Retract the hammer to about 2 feet above the casing and bring up the drill tools through the hammer just clearing the casing. The ATLAS swing arm then swings the hammer and drill tools clear of the well casing so you can clean out the hole with a bailer. Swing the hammer and tools back over the casing and lower the tools into the hole and start the cycle all over again. In all cases we know this will make the drill rig a more valuable tool depending on the operator.

Operating a cable tool is a physically strenuous process. The Cable Tool Hammer and Swing Arm greatly reduces the physical demand thereby reducing down time due to injuries. We know that people do very well with casing hammers on these rigs.
